The front gardens are endlessly fascinating. Each garden has its own 'character'. And I am intrigued by what can be fitted into such small spaces.
I liked this miniature 'bike garage'...
I am very intrigued to find out how the rubbish collection works. There is no room to put the bins on the pavement so they must be collected in situ I assume. This issue of space has me pondering on how much we take for-granted the space we have in New Zealand. We really are profligate in this regard. Similar thoughts about transport - more on that later.
Impressive carrier bags on the back of those bikes. Is the wearing of bike helmets compulsory?
ReplyDeleteI was thinking about vines on houses as we were driving home from soccer today (Matty got a player of the day voucher for a hot chocolate at Jo Seagars :) I think they look neat but I wouldn't want one growing on our house. I did a bit of gardening here yesterday. It was a nice mild norwestie day. Cold today though. XX
No, don't have to wear helmets :-) I have access to a bike but, to be honest, I think I would be quite scared to bike. Maybe OK in the countryside but in the city it is such a tangle of cars, trams and bikes. The cyclists all know what they are doing and travel quite fast. I could see myself getting right in the path of a tram coming one way and a car or other cyclists coming another way and just not knowing where to go. They have clearly marked cycle lanes. Cyclists are very well catered for - as they are in Germany I recall.
ReplyDeleteCongratulations Matty!!!!
ReplyDeleteI think that is why many dutch come to nz .. space :) And again once you experience not having as much .. you appreciate it more when you do have it :)
